Nordic Conference about Turner Syndrom

INVITATION

Date and place:

The conference will take place on September 14–16, 2018 at the hotel Scandic Upplands Väsby in Upplands Väsby, about 25 kilome­ter north of Stockholm. The conference will start at 15:00 on Friday, September 14 and end at 15:00 on Sunday, September 16.

The hotel:

Hotel Scandic Upplands Väsby, where we will stay during the conference and the conference will be held, is a small hotel with a nice atmosphere. It has restaurant, bar and conference facilities. There is also a relax-area with a sauna and a gym.

Transport to the hotel:

The Hotel is located about 17 kilometer from Arlanda Airport. There is a bus from Arlanda Airport to the Hotel and it is also possible to get to the Hotel by taking a comutertrain from the Centralstation in Stockholm.

Preliminary schedule for the conference:

We are planning for a programme with interesting lectures and di-scussions but also time for get-together and getting to know each other and exchanging experiences. Preliminary the programme will look like this.

After opening and introduction on Friday we will have dinner together and after dinner there will be entertainment. On Saturday morning there will be lectures and after lunch we will go on a sight seeing tour by bus to Stockholm. After that you have free time to do what you like and maybe have dinner in Stockholm. Later in the evening we get together at the hotel. On Sunday morning we will have one more lecture and discussions. After lunch we sum up and end the conference.

We will listen to the following persons as lecturers.

Psychologist Charlotte Willfors, Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, who will tell us about a study about economic behavior and social skills among women with Turner syndrome. Is this connected to whether the X-chromosom the woman has comes from her mother or father?
Dr. Claus Gravholt, Departement of Endochrinology and Internal Medicin at Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark, who will talk about heart issues connected to Turner syndrome.
Gynaecologist Sabine Naessen and midwife Carina Levelind, who will talk about eggdonation. How did it go for women with Turner syndrome who tried eggdonation and how did it go for the children?

The fee for the conference including food, two nights at the hotel and sightseeing will be:

Payment:

The participants will receive an invoice to pay the fee for the conference. The invoice will be delivered by e-mail.
