Nordic Conference about Turner Syndrom

Date and place:

The conference will take place on September 14–16, 2018 at the hotel Scandic Upplands Väsby in Upplands Väsby, about 25 kilome¬ter north of Stockholm. The conference will start at 15:00 on Friday, September 14 and end at 15:00 on Sunday, September 16.

The hotel:

Hotel Scandic Upplands Väsby, where we will stay during the confe-rence and the conference will be held, is a small hotel with a nice at-mosphere. It has restaurant, bar and conference facilities. There is also a relax-area with a sauna and a gym.

Tranport to the hotel:

The Hotel is located about 17 kilometer from Arlanda Airport. There is a bus from Arlanda Airport to the Hotel and it is also possible to get to the Hotel by taking a comutertrain from the Centralstation in Stock-holm. Preliminary schedule for the conference: We are planning for a programme with interesting lectures and di-scussions but also time for get-together and getting to know each other and exchanging experiences. Preliminary the programme will look like this.

After opening and introduction on Friday we will have dinner to¬gether and after dinner there will be entertainment. On Saturday morning there will be lectures and after lunch we will go on a sight¬seeingtour by bus to Stockholm. After that you have free time to do what you like and maybe have dinner in Stockholm. Later in the eve¬ning we get together at the hotel. On Sunday morning we will have one more lecture and discussions. After lunch we sum up and end the conference.

We hope we will have the following persons as lecturers.

  • Anna Nordenstam, specialist in Endocrinology at Karolinska Univer¬sity Hospital in Stockholm
  • Ann Nordgren, specialist in Genetics at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm
  • Kerstin Landin, professor in Endocrinology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg
  • Dr. Claus Gravholt, Departement of Endochrinology and Internal Me-dicin at Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark

We hope that Anna Nordenstam will tell us about the results of the european study DSD-Life. We hope that Ann Nordgren will tell us about her researchproject where she studies if social skills and medical problems among women with Turner syndrome is connected to whether the X-chromosom she has comes from her mother or father.

The fee for the conference including food, two nights at the hotel and sightseeing will be:
